We like to talk about everything from home decor to fashion to parenting. The main overall theme though is FUN. If you don't like to laugh, then this probably isn't the place for you.
When we did an addition on our home many moons ago, one of the things we added was a master suite with a walk-in closet. We even had a company come out and design a whole organizational system with built-in cabinets and shelving. However, over the years, it has morphed into a GIANT mess of disorganization with piles upon piles of clothing that were definitely not bringing joy to my life anymore. (Yes, Marie Kondo would have been absolutely MORTIFIED!!!)
Thank goodness for the miracle workers at 2B Organized who reached out to me about tackling this beast of a situation. They are a professional organizing firm that guides you through the process of bringing order to an entire space or even a whole home. I was a nervous wreck about allowing anyone to see the disaster that this closet had become. For real, my anxiety was out of control! However, Krissy from the Kansas City branch of 2B Organized showed up at my door with a big smile on her face and a “LET’S DO THIS!” attitude that immediately put me at ease.
The first thing she did was to remove all the overflowing piles from the shelves and place them on my bed. My bed soon looked like Mount St. Helens, you guys! She then had me go through all of these piles and create a keep pile, a donate pile, and a sell pile. And yes, this process was definitely overwhelming at first, I’m not gonna lie. It was difficult to decide what should stay and what should go, but once I got into it, it became a whole lot easier.
Once we’d established what was staying from the piles, she then had me go through all the hanging stuff. If I hadn’t worn it within the past six months to a year, I yanked it right out of there. My sell and donate piles quickly became giant mounds, and it felt sooooooooo good to be purging!
Next, she sent me to the Container Store to pick up some storage bins and organizational dividers while she stayed at my house to work on the organizing in my closet. When I returned home, I could not believe the magic she was creating! My shelves had perfectly folded rows of t-shirts and jeans, and it was beginning to look like closets I’d only seen in magazines! She’d even organized my drawers with perfectly rolled bras and underwear and workout clothes. It all looked so beautiful!
Unfortunately, I had to run off to my daughter’s soccer game before Krissy had finished everything, but when I got back later that evening, I was in total and complete AWE of my beautifully styled closet. She even went so far as to label the shelves for me! I literally stood there flabbergasted. How was this thing of beauty MY closet??!! In fact, I was so blown away that I actually contemplated becoming a nudist so that I didn’t mess anything up.
To say that I would highly recommend 2B Organized would be a severe understatement. Krissy was AMAZING to work with, like hanging out with an old friend. She was patient, focused and extremely driven. And she also took all the bags of donated items with her to donate, saving me that extra work! I am forever grateful to her for helping me whip this space into shape. I honestly didn’t even realize how much stress all that clutter was creating for me! What an incredible feeling it is to walk in my closet and to actually be able to SEE where everything is! If you’re in need of some decluttering in your home, 2B Organized is totally your go-to! They have locations in Missouri, Ohio, California, and Texas and are even willing to travel to you. Check out their site for all the awesome services they have available.
